When Jackie showed up at a plot in Valtaki, she was scared, fragile, and had a string tied around her neck. No one knows how long she had been wandering, searching for kindness, but when she finally found it, her gentle heart still held on to hope. She was brought to us immediately, and though her body told the story of neglect — her ribs visible from lack of food — her soul remained sweet.
In just a few days, Jackie has started to pick up weight and, more importantly, trust. She is still nervous, watching the world with cautious eyes, but she isn’t afraid of love. If you move too quickly, she flinches, but if you reach out slowly, she will lean in, quietly asking for affection. There’s something incredibly special about the way she so gently asks for love, as if she’s making sure it’s okay. Once she knows she’s safe, her tail wags ever so slightly, and she melts into the warmth of your touch.
She gets along well with other dogs, so if you’re looking for a second pup to join your home, she would be a wonderful companion. With time, patience, and kindness, Jackie will flourish into the playful, confident dog she was always meant to be.
