Briana is a 3-year-old Pitbull with a heart of gold, but her journey to safety was far from easy. She was found roaming the R460 near the Sasol in Ekangala, a heavy chain dangling around her neck—a stark symbol of her past. For two long days, she evaded the kind-hearted couple trying to help her, too scared to trust, too weary to stop running.
On the second day, something changed. Perhaps it was their gentle persistence or her own exhaustion, but Briana finally allowed herself to be rescued. When they got her into the car, something truly moving happened—she curled up on the back seat and immediately fell into a deep sleep, as though she finally felt safe.
When Briana arrived at Wet Nose, we removed the chain that had weighed her down for so long. You could see the relief wash over her as if she knew her days of hardship were finally behind her. And then, Briana did something that melted all of our hearts—she leaned into the arms of our Animal Welfare Supervisor, seeking comfort, connection, and love.
She is the gentlest soul, full of love to give. All she wants is what she’s been missing—love, a warm meal, and a safe place to rest her head. We are making sure Briana is in full health before she’s ready to go to her forever home. But we know this much: the family that opens their hearts to her will gain a loyal companion, a cuddle buddy, and a lifelong friend.
