He was lying in a pile of rubbish beside the road, with a rope cutting painfully into his neck...

This is Georgie, an 8 year old Africanis whose life changed when a gentleman driving on the R537 near the Kameeldrift butchery saw Georgie and tended to him.

The moment he spotted Georgie lying among the bags of rubbish, he stopped and called us for help. We rushed out to fetch him and brought him straight back to our clinic, where we carefully cut away the rope that had caused a deep, painful wound around his neck..

Our first priority was to ease his pain and help him regain some strength. Once he was strong enough, Georgie underwent surgery to pull the damaged skin together, giving the wound a better chance to heal cleanly and quickly.

He still has a long road ahead of him, but things are looking much brighter for this precious old boy. He is safe, receiving the care he needs, and no longer lying alone beside the road.

Georgie is not ready for adoption just yet. For now, his only job is to rest, heal and grow stronger. We will keep everyone updated on his recovery and let you know when the day finally comes for him to begin searching for a loving home.
