Slate is a 5-year-old Pitbull X who has faced unimaginable challenges but has emerged stronger and sweeter. He was found near the Donkerhoek Plaza offramp, lying unresponsive by the roadside and covered in ticks. Thanks to the quick action of a kind passerby and compassionate care, his journey of recovery is nothing short of miraculous.
When Slate arrived at our clinic, he was treated for Babesia and remains under careful watch to ensure his full recovery. He also battled a harsh case of conjunctivitis that left his eyes painful and irritated. Today, his eyes are much better, looking forward to a brighter future.
Slate is a little scared and unsure of what’s happening around him yet he is a gentle, well-behaved soul who exudes loyalty and kindness, despite his difficult past. His behaviour suggests he may have been someone’s beloved companion before, but the heartbreaking reality is that he may have been abandoned. Now, he’s ready to love and be loved again, with a heart as big as his journey.
