Scared to the bone, yet he still trusts...
Tanner is a 3-year-old Africanis with the heart of a warrior and the gentleness of a lamb. He was found wandering in Riamarpark, Bronkhorstspruit, with a rope around his neck and in a heartbreaking, emaciated condition. Kind-hearted community members took him in overnight, fed him, and ensured his safety until Wet Nose could bring him to our clinic the next morning.
This poor boy came to us not only starved but also with painful pressure sores, a reminder of the neglect he has endured. Despite his tough start, Tanner’s love for people shines through, as he melts under the gentle touch of those who show him kindness.
Tanner is still learning to trust when it comes to food. After being deprived for so long, he’s understandably protective over his meals. But our dedicated team is working with him every day, helping him feel secure and teaching him how to make new doggy friends.
We will keep you updated on Tanner’s journey as he gains strength and confidence. Soon, we hope he’ll be ready to find his forever family—a home where he will never have to experience hunger or neglect again.
