She Was Scared of Everyone… Until This Happened!
When Poppet first arrived at Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre, she was a scared, trembling little soul — alone, confused, and unsure of what was happening. She had been found as a stray on the R515 near Kakiebos, wandering along the roadside, vulnerable and afraid. Life had not been kind to her, and she had no reason to trust the hands reaching out to help her.
At first, Poppet was snappy and defensive, not because she was mean, but because she had learned to protect herself. She didn’t know that she had been rescued — that she was finally safe.
Slowly, Poppet began to trust again. She started to realize that the people around her weren’t going to hurt her. She allowed herself to feel affection, to accept gentle scratches, and to even wag her tail a little. It took time, but she finally let her walls down.
Despite discovering that she had a fractured hind tibia, Poppet refused to let it hold her back. She is a tiny warrior, and if there’s one thing that can make her forget her worries — it’s chicken! She will happily jump for joy at the sight of a tasty treat, proving that even the smallest pup can have the biggest spirit.
While Poppet is still a little nervous around new people, she warms up quickly with a little patience and care. Once she trusts you, she will melt into your heart, showing her sweet and affectionate side.
Now, all Poppet needs is a forever home. She has come so far, but she still needs someone who will love her, protect her, and show her that she will never be alone again. Could that be you?
