They Left Her to Suffer…

They Left Her to Suffer...

When we first met Sussie, her eyes told a story that her frail body couldn’t hide.

Her body was so thin that every rib showed. She stood carefully on three legs, trying to balance the best she could, as her right back leg was no longer a leg at all. We don’t know what happened to her, but it looks like it had once been broken, and instead of getting help, it was just left to rot and close on its own.

At only 13.2kgs and a body score of 1/10, she should not have survived. Yet, she held on because she had 10 tiny lives depending on her.

Our vet team knew we had to act fast. Sussie was fed, cared for, and loved until she was strong enough to undergo a proper amputation, this time, by gentle, caring hands. Now, she no longer has to carry the weight of pain on that leg.
Sussie is shy around strangers (who could blame her), but she’s learning that gentle hands can bring love, not harm. When she trusts you, she leans in softly, accepting treats and soaking up the affection.

She’s still healing, both physically and mentally, but every day, she reminds us that even the most broken hearts can learn to love again.

Sussie is looking for a home that will understand her, a home that will patiently wait for her to open up. If that is you or you know someone who would adopt Sussie, please contact 082 677 8086. If you can’t adopt, please share Sussie’s story. Every share helps her and others like her find their happy ending.
