This Shy Little Heart Is Waiting to Bloom
Imagine being lost, scared, and not knowing where you belong. That’s Jean’s story.
On January 28th, this sweet 3-year-old Spaniel X showed up at a stranger’s house in Bronkhorstspruit—alone, confused, and with no one looking for her. The kind people who found her tried to find her family, but no one came forward. So, she ended up with us at Wet Nose.
Jean was terrified! She curled up in the back of her kennel, trying to make herself invisible. The world outside seemed too big, too loud, too overwhelming. Days passed, and though we checked in on her, she kept her distance — until today.
For the first time since arriving, Jean slowly, cautiously, made her way out of her corner. She didn’t just step forward—she stepped into someone’s lap. It was like she was saying, “I want to trust. I just don’t know how yet.” And in that simple, quiet moment, she let her walls down.
Jean isn’t bold. She’s not the dog who’ll rush up to greet you with tail wags and sloppy kisses. But once she feels safe with you, her heart opens wide. She’s gentle, tender, and all she really wants is to feel loved and protected.
She’s not meant for a kennel. She’s meant for cozy blankets, soft whispers, patient hands, and someone who will show her that the world can be kind. If you are interested in Jean or other dogs like Jean, please contact 082 677 8084 or visit the adopt page.
